The COSMEMS project (Core Outcome Set for Research in Brain Infection Sequelae) is an
international study initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in collaboration with the
International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC).

They are an international team of health professionals, researchers, and individuals with lived experience of brain infections. The project is led by Dr. Tarun Dua and Dr. Nicoline Schiess (both World Health Organization) and Dr. Daniel Munblit (King's College London).
The project aims to improve research for people with the long-term effects of brain infections such as meningitis, encephalitis, and meningoencephalitis.
They are currently inviting people with lived experience of encephalitis, meningitis and
meningoencephalitis long term effects to participate in the project.
Participation involves taking part in a series of online meetings and short surveys. By sharing your experiences, you can help shape future research and improve care for others worldwide.
